About Croak Events

Croak Events produces dance events and helps other gatherings come to life in Sebastopol, Sonoma County, and the greater North Bay. We are professional, but we are not driven by profit.

Our events are built around music, movement, and connection, with a focus on what dance can do for the body and mind. We work with skilled artists, facilitators, production professionals, and venues both established and emerging to create events that feel thoughtful, accessible, and alive.

Croak offers an alternative to formula entertainment, where events are often shaped by a dependence on alcohol sales, high ticketing fees, and the priorities of large entertainment companies. We frequently team up with artists, producers, venues, nonprofits, and community groups to create something together.

Inclusivity, respect, and consent are core values at Croak. We work to create spaces where people can participate and express themselves freely, with clear respect for personal boundaries and particular attention to racial equity, queer and trans communities, disability access, and people of different ages and abilities.

Croak also provides professional creative and production support:

• Event production: Planning, promotion, booking, venue coordination, and event design
• Creative and technical services: Web design, visual design, creative technology, sound, and lighting
• Artists and programming: Performers, DJs, musicians, dancers, and dance and movement facilitators

Some of this work is provided directly by Croak. For other projects, we bring in collaborators with the right experience, skills, and perspective.

A large part of our work is gifting these services to nonprofits, low-income and independent artists, community members, and gatherings that might not otherwise have access to them. A limited budget should not be the only thing that decides whether a good idea gets the chance to happen.
